Frequently asked questions and their answers
As of 1st April 2017, carriers must maintain records of the working hours of vehicle crew members in line with the Rules on Recording Working Hours of Vehicle Crew Members (Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia, No. 13 of 2017).
Who can be a crew member?
- A driver, or a person who operates a vehicle, even for a short period of time, or a person in the vehicle while doing their job and has the option to operate it if needed;
- A co-driver, or a person who frequently engages in the tasks needed by the transport and rides with the driver to help him manoeuvre the vehicle, but who is not the driver as defined by this paragraph's subparagraph (1);
- Conductor, i.e. a person who rides with the vehicle driver for routine passenger transportation and is especially in charge of issuing or verifying tickets or other documentation that allow passengers to be carried by that vehicle;
- An intern or a person who requires training to function independently in the profession.
What are the obligations of the carrier?
Weekly electronic or written records of each crew member's working hours must be maintained, and the carrier shall ensure that the total number of working hours throughout the reference period does not exceed the specified restrictions.
Which data are kept in the records?
The records shall include the required information and the data must be added to them within the timeframes specified. Each member's records should include the following information:
- First name and surname
- Personal identification number
- Vehicle crew member’s date and place of birth
- Week start and end dates
- Workday start time
- End of workday time
- Duration of workday
- Duration of daily working hours
- Duration of night work
- Duration of management time
- Duration of other working hours
- Duration of paid leave
- Availability time duration
- Duration of rest time
- Duration of weekly working hours
